How To Remove The Water

When designing a shower area it is important to know how you intend to remove the water from the shower. Fully tiled shower rooms have become popular and require an in-floor shower drain. Another popular choice would be a shower tray fitted between tiled walls which will contain the water in a smaller area. Shower trays are available in both a recessed design to sit level with the floor line or floor standing to fit on top of the floor. Fully enclosed shower cubicles are also available to save on building work and installation time.

Types Of Showers

Manual thermostatically controlled showers are supplied with hot and cold water and will deliver the water at a preset temperature. Manual showers do not require any power supply.

Manual showers can be supplied with standard type shower heads or with larger round or square drench shower heads.

Electric showers have a built in water heating tank that will heat up the cold water feed and produce hot water for your showering needs. Electric showers are usually available with different power ratings which will supply different amounts of hot water and will require an electrical power supply.

Shower panels are popular in sports centres and caravan parks because the interconnecting pipework between the shower valve and shower head is concealed within the panel. Shower panels are available with a time flow press button to help conserve water or infra red control to provide a hygienic no touch operation whilst also conserving water.

Specialist Showers

Emergency safety showers are dedicated safety showers designed to provide immediate decontamination for operatives who have been exposed to hazardous chemicals or substances. These showers are typically installed in workplaces like laboratories, chemical plants and factories that store or use hazardous chemicals. Safety showers are available in ceiling mounted, wall mounted and floor standing versions.

Eye Wash Units

Eye wash units are dedicated water spray units designed to provide immediate, emergency cleaning and irrigation for the eyes in case of exposure to hazardous chemicals, irritants, or foreign particles. The eye wash units are available in wall mounted, floor standing, hand held and combined versions to suit all applications.

Conclusion

Selecting the perfect shower comes down to your personal preferences, space, and budget.

Don't forget to consider the installation implications and any legal regulatory requirements.
